Produced in London, this indie podcast features poetry from all around the World, and so far has included the UK, Ireland, Germany, USA, Australia, Canada, Singapore and Israel.
The poems can be on subjects as diverse as politics and love to passion and loss, and can be funny or serious.
We feature interviews with the poets, and the listeners vote for the winner.

Slam Idol
The live performance competition known as the poetry slam began in Chicago in November 1984. In 1990, the first National Poetry Slam took place in Fort Mason, San Francisco, involving a team from Chicago, a team from San Francisco, and an individual poet from New York. As of 2008, the National Poetry Slam has grown and currently features approximately 80 certified teams each year, culminating in five days of competition.


Slams have since spread all over the world, and now you can enjoy the art of the spoken word anytime you'd like on Slam Idol. Listen online, or download to your favorite MP3 player.
